Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted every year by Karnataka Examinations Authority for admission to Engineering, Pharma and Agricultural Science courses in various Government, Private Aided and Private un-aided institutions in Karnataka.
Syllabus:
- KCET 2021 will be based on Class 11th and 12th curriculum/ I and II PUC syllabus as prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka state.
Pattern of examination:
- There will be 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each.
- The question papers will be either in Kannada language or in both Kannada and English languages.
- The exam will be held on two days in four different sessions for the following four subjects – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Duration:
- Each paper will be for one hour twenty minutes.
Eligibility:
B.Tech courses:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India and must have passed 2nd PUC/Class 12/equivalent examination with Physics, English and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- The candidate must have any one optional subjects out of Biology/Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Electronics/Computer Science.
- General category candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% in aggregate and reserved category candidates must have secured 40% marks in aggregate.
- Pharm course:
- Candidates must have qualified 2nd PUC or class 12th examination with PCM or PCB.
- General category candidates must have secured 45% in aggregate while reserved category candidates should secure 40% to apply for KCET 2021
or
- Candidates must have passed a Diploma in Pharmacy from a government approved institute.
B.Sc. Hons. Agriculture:
- Candidates should have passed in 2nd PUC/Class 12th/equivalent exam from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Biology as an optional subject.
